Who we are
Accord Building Compliance of 20 Mill Road, Linlithgow, EH49 7RD is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions, email info@accordbuildingcompliance.co.uk or call 07342 553863.
What we collect
When you contact us through this website, by email or by phone, we collect the information you give us. This usually includes:
• your name, email address and phone number
• the project or property postcode
• details about your project, and any drawings, photographs or documents you send
If we go on to work together, we also keep records needed to deliver our services, such as inspection reports, certificates and invoices.
How we use it
• to reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote
• to carry out the services you’ve asked for, including inspections and issuing certificates
• to share certificates and reports with your lender, solicitor or warranty provider where you ask us to
• to meet our legal, insurance and professional obligations
We rely on these lawful bases under UK data protection law: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing our contract with you, complying with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in running our business. We don’t use your information for marketing unless you’ve asked us to.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it where needed to provide our services, for example with your lender or solicitor, specialist consultants on our expert panel, our professional indemnity insurer, and the providers that host our website and email.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries that don’t lead to work for 12 months. Project records are kept for six years after the project ends, so we can meet our liability and insurance obligations, including the six-year liability period that applies to PCCs.
Cookies
Our website is hosted by Wix, which uses essential cookies to make the site work and keep it secure. We don’t use advertising or marketing cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it to someone else. To make a request, contact us using the details above. We’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
